The children in Preschool explore and discover the city
In the school year 2018-19, the educational programme “Explorations” has been implemented for the Preschool children. It comprised expeditions outside the school compound, as well as preparation and assessment sessions in the classroom.
Theme was “The city we live in”. The children went on walks and tours in the city and then tried to map them. The programme’ s objective was to offer them the opportunity to cultivate concentration and observation skills, and to acquire an exploratory and penetrating perception of the world surrounding us. During these outings, the children tried to apprehend in how many and different ways they can see and perceive the world. They used magnifying glasses and microscopes to enlarge the microcosm, but also telescopes and binoculars to see and observe the distant world up close.
