The week of January 20-24...
... was dedicated to everything Scotland!
Students had the opportunity to learn many interesting facts about SCOTLAND while engaging in educational, fun-filled activities!
We explored Scotland on the map, found Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness!
We even tried to speak Gaelic! We learned the word “Loch”. Do you know what it means? We played Highland games in the schoolyard: Tug of War, Caber Toss, Shot Put, and Maide Leisg!
We searched for the Loch Ness monster around the school and created a storyboard about it…Nessie, where are you?
We learnt about Scottish traditions, tartans, clans, bagpipes and food! Have you ever tried “haggis”?
We read about Scottish myths and legends!
We talked about Robert Burns!
“Burns Night” is celebrated on January 25!
It was truly a magical trip to Scotland!
